Many museums display famous American classics such as Mustangs, Corvettes and Cadillacs. Eight Amcars Club (EAC) Bilhistorisk Senter offers something completely different. Here you will discover the brands that disappeared while Ford and General Motors conquered the market.

Located just outside Oslo, this remarkable museum houses one of the world’s largest collections of cars from forgotten American manufacturers. Even if you are not a dedicated car enthusiast, the stories, craftsmanship and nostalgia make this a surprisingly fascinating stop.

For motorcycle riders exploring Eastern Norway, it is an easy detour that combines history, great photography and a good burger before continuing the journey.

Eight Forgotten Legends

The museum focuses on eight American car manufacturers that gradually disappeared between the late 1940s and the mid-1960s. Instead of following the obvious path, EAC tells the story of the companies that lost the battle despite producing innovative and beautiful automobiles. The collection includes cars from:

• Hudson
• Nash
• Kaiser
• Frazer
• Henry J
• Willys
• DeSoto

More than 100 carefully preserved vehicles are displayed across two spacious floors, while the club itself owns an even larger collection. Some cars are beautifully restored, while others remain untouched survivors that reveal decades of automotive history. The museum was created by enthusiasts who have spent decades rescuing vehicles that otherwise might have disappeared forever. 

More Than Just Cars

The experience is about much more than polished chrome.

Every vehicle has its own story, and the museum presents them with genuine passion rather than simply displaying them behind barriers. Many of the cars have Norwegian histories, making the collection even more interesting for local visitors. The modern exhibition hall offers plenty of space, excellent lighting and enough room to appreciate every detail.
