Weather forecast for bikers!

Weather forecast for bikers!

Last weekend I went on a motorcycle trip with some friends. We knew it was going to rain a lot, but where? Which direction should we ride? And how would the rain develop over time?

You have probably been there. You open your favorite weather app, and start punching in locations. Checking the forecast at one specific place, and then you move on to the next possible destination on your route to check the forecast over there. Time consuming, and soon you loose track of things…
Instead I made my own map, and imported some weather data. Weather Planner Beta was born just hours before we left.

The Weather Planner 🌀️

How would you like to look at a map, and watch the raincloud move over it – hour by hour – for the next 4 days! 😳
Needless to say, our weekend trip was saved. We got to see how the weather would develop the next few days, and planned our trip accordingly. In a weekend that was doomed to be wet, I think I wiped my visir twice to remove the few drops we encountered! πŸ€ͺ ⛅️

Improve even further?! 😳

When I got home, and concluded that the beta version actually gave great value, I thought; can I make it even better for motorcycle riders?
Then I realized that 70-80% of the users of this site are foreigners. They might not know every fjord or mountain pass. They don’t know where Trollstigen or Atlanterhavsvegen is just by looking at a map, so I came up with the idea of including the users own bucket list. By a click of a button, you can see all your saved roads and locations in the weather map. This will hopefully make it easier for YOU to see the weather development in relation to the places you might want to see. πŸ‘πŸ»

Test it out!

Head over to the Weather Planner and test it out for yourself! If you’re not a registered user, you get to see the the weather forecast for the next four day. Great!
If you have signed up for a free account and have saved some locations in your own bucket list, you get to populate the map and see their exact location on the weather map. Even better!

Enjoy!
