For some time now, it has been possible to create your own bucket list on my site. If you find a please you want to visit or a road you want to ride, you can just click the button “Add to bucket List” and the location is stored in your very own bucket list on the site.
Now, since I wanted to please everyone, you could make your own bucket list regardless if you registered to the site or not.
If you registered, your list would be stored in your profile on the site. if you didn’t register, the list would be stored in a cookie. The cookie alternative turned out to have too many issues, so I have decided to remove this possibility. From now you have to register to create a bucket list…
Here’s why
- The cookie alternative saved a cookie in the browser you’re currently using. If you use another browser, another PC or phone, the list will no longer be available to you…
- If the the cookie expires or is deleted, the list is no longer available.
- And most importantly, it turns out that the cookie list is deleted if a ‘cookie user’ decides to register an account… Not good…
So, from now everyone that want to make their own bucket list, have to register a free account. Rest assured, your data will not be misused. In the 2,5 years I have been running this site, I have not even sent an email to those who signed up to get notifications… 😉
