The tower of the mountain ‘Slottsfjellet’ (Slottsfjellstårnet) is a monumental stone tower in the ruin park after the medieval castle Tunsberghus on Slottsfjellet in Tønsberg. The tower was erected in 1888 as a lookout tower and memorial after the 1000th anniversary of Tønsberg as Norway’s oldest city.

Slottsfjellstårnet is 17 meters (60 feet) high and the landmark of the city Tønsberg.

Inside you will find the signatures from 3 kings: 1906 – King Håkon VII during his coronation, 1958 – King Olav V during his coronation and 1992 – Kong Harald V during the opening of Tønsberg and Nøtterøy library.
