Flydalsjuvet is a stunning viewpoint located near Geiranger in Norway. It offers breathtaking views over Geirangerfjorden and the surrounding landscape, making it a popular spot for photography. The viewpoint is divided into two areas: an upper and a lower plateau, connected by a walkway.
One of the highlights of Flydalsjuvet is the “Fjordsetet” (Fjord Seat), a large wooden chair unveiled by Her Royal Highness Queen Sonja in 2003. This spot provides a majestic view over the fjord, perfect for capturing memorable photos.
If you’re looking for a unique photo opportunity, you can find the iconic Geiranger Rock at the lower viewpoint. This rock offers an incredible view over the fjord, but be cautious as it is unfenced and has a significant drop.
In the area
Geiranger is truly a treasure chest for motorcycle enthusiasts! Both when it comes to great locations to check out, but also in terms of the roads to get you there! If you find yourself in the Geiranger area, you have probably plotted many of them already, but here are my recommendations:
- Dalsnibba view point
- Geiranger fjord (UNESCO)
- Norwegian Scenic route Geiranger – Trollstigen
- Norwegian Scenic Route Old Strynefjellsveg
- Gudbrandsjuvet
- Billing Seterpensjonat
- The Seven Sisters waterfall
- Norangsdalen
- Union Hotel, Øye
